Körgull The Exterminator / Morbid Yell: Split

Since some other staffer jumped ship without reviewing this, I had to step in and do it instead. Also, K requested it to be done “real fucken fast”. Fortunately for me, it doesn’t take very much time to come to the conclusion that Körgull the Exterminator (one can’t have too high hopes with such a name, eh? Fucking hell, complete with metal umlaut and everything) is the shit, and by that I mean that they are shit.
I never really got into thrash, but even if I had, I seriously doubt it would help these untalented Spaniards the slightest bit. The four songs they showcase on this here split CD sound like they were recorded in a fucking cookie jar and mixed by two orangutans and a flaccid penis. I won’t comment on the individual performances, because honestly, you can’t fucking hear them, save for a few solos here and there, and they are completely worthless. Apparently, Körgul features two females in the line-up (doing vocals and the perpetual chick instrument in metal, bass) and from what I can tell they are both more than averagely hot. One of them is called Necrobitch, and hey, nobody’s more necro than me. Bitch.
Now this might have been over and we could all forget about this sorry excuse for an album. Alas, much to my dismay, this release features another “band” namely Morbid Yell, which sports a little more death metal oriented sound. The production here is, if possible, even worse than on the Körgull tracks, and every song is lost in a low-end rumble, sounding like some Spanish “toros” stampeding in the rehearsal room. Also, the final track, “Chainsaw Death Fuck” is allegedly taken from the “ultra limited and self released 2006 rehearsal/improv. tape “Chainsaw death fuck”, and contains 3 songs”. Well fuck me if I don’t feel privileged! The fact that someone would even release this bullshit fucking baffles me.
Oh, and Morbid Yell is possibly an even worse moniker than Körgull the Exterminator, if I were you (which I’m extremely grateful that I’m not), I’d change it to Morbid Smell.
